Featured Trendsetter To Know By AZ Foothills Magazine: Melany Berger

I’m excited to share that Arizona Foothills Magazine asked to feature me as a leader and “trendsetter to know” in their online publication! Thank you! *Dior Horns* They interviewed me and requested to “be as creative, as informative, as tongue-in-cheek you want to be.” Take notes friends. This is an entertaining read if I do say so myself! I brought the snark for you. Take it away….. Name: Melany Berger… Continue Reading

The Blame Game: Who Wins?

The Blame Game: Who Wins?

Last week, during my self-imposed quarantine, it became clear to me that I need to write about the pandemic we are facing in the world because it is unlike anything we have ever seen. Some people have decided to rewrite history to make themselves feel better by destroying bits and pieces of what actually happened in the past, but this is going to be an honest and true documentation of what is happening for me, if not for anyone else.  We may not be proud of things that have happened in the past, but they happened, and we need to… Continue Reading

Dear Spoiled Americans,

Dear Spoiled Americans, This is for you! The Coronavirus is affecting every, single one of us. You are not the only one. Ok? So, let’s get that straight. Someone has it worse than you and you need to remember that. It is really easy to be a keyboard warrior while there are real people doing their JOBS going above and beyond to protect you, the ungrateful. They are risking their own lives daily so you can sit from the comfort of your own home, in your pajamas, eating cookies, with your family and complain that you are able to work… Continue Reading

Puppies Make Me Happy: Meet Mr. December aka Teddy Brewski

The Snuggle Is Real! Puppies make me very happy but so does that fact that YOU voted for my puppy, Teddy Brewski to be in the 2020 Puppies Make Me Happy Calendar. He is Mr. December and his caption reads “The Snuggle is Real” and fits him to a tee. We have had a ruff 2019 but the fact that over 600 votes were counted from YOU (real people with a pulse) for the snarkiest Havanese, makes this New Year much sweeter. Teddy Brewski and I wish all of you a fabulous 2020. May this be the best year yet!… Continue Reading

Social Media Influencer Campaign Done Right: MillerCoors Arnold Palmer Spiked

Social Media Influencer Campaign Done Right: MillerCoors Arnold Palmer Spiked

A few months ago, I was offered a dream campaign for my Instagram account from MillerCoors unveiling the new Arnold Palmer Spiked drink at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. This campaign was a perfect fit for me for all of these reasons and more: 1. I like to drink. I really like spiked lemonade drinks that taste good! 2. I love to golf! I would rather be golfing now. 3. The Waste Management Phoenix Open is one of the coolest events I have ever been to and I have been to A LOT of events. I mean….it is called the… Continue Reading

New Year’s Resolutions Are Lame: Guydlines Are Forever

New Years Resolutions Are Lame: Guydlines Are Forever

As I sit here on the eve of 2018, I take time to review my past New Years Eve posts full “guydlines-isms” and it is not surprising that I agree with 100% of what I have had to say in the past. I told you many times I am smarter than I look. Right? It is time for us to ring in another year and I am very excited and optimistic for 2018 (it may just be because I am cleansing and a little light headed but whatever). First, I want to say thank you for giving me the opportunity… Continue Reading

Look Both Ways Before Taking Selfies In Bathrooms

Look Both Ways Before Taking Selfies In Bathrooms:

Last week I attended a holiday party and a girl stopped me as I was washing my hands after using the facilities. She asked if I could take a photo of her in the bathroom. We were at the W Hotel in Scottsdale with a plethora of places to capture her impromptu photo shoot in her dress or shirt (wasn’t quite sure which one) but sure the bathroom works. Why not? So, I took more than a few pictures of her like a seasoned blogger does, holding the phone above my eyes with the mandatory downward angle ensuring maximum flattering… Continue Reading

Not All Influencers Are Created Equal: Celebrity vs. Influencer Part 2

Not All Influencers Are Created Equal: Celebrity vs. Influencer Part 2

Continued from my previous post….. Did you read it? You should right here. The next interesting issue from my previous post is about social media influencers turning celebrity. Not like Brad Pitt celeb status but more like a Tila Tequila celeb status. Usually these C-D-listers, so called celebs are so entitled that they are here one day and gone the next. Out faster than onesies for the holidays. In this case, these people are usually managed or have agents like the guy I met a while back and is now feeling “holier than thou” trying to sign “digital” talent. He… Continue Reading

Not All Influencers Are Created Equal: Celebrity vs. Influencer Part 1

Not All Influencers Are Created Equal: Celebrity vs. Influencer Part 1

This post was written a few months back while visiting Los Angeles (I got out for good this time because I served two full sentences there and have not looked back since) and I have been so busy that I did not get around to sharing then but am making time right now! This is an important post and describes the difference between a celebrity and influencer in snarky terms, of course. Ahh Hollywood. You never cease to provide me with ample amounts of snarky material to address on this here blog. I love you for that (and just that)…. Continue Reading

Melany’s Mantra: Repeat, Rinse And Repeat

Melany's Mantra

Every morning I swear to repeat this mantra. I am going to print it out and hang on my mirror. It is the summer and I want to take some time for myself while still being able to do the things I WANT to do. This means not feeling obligated to do things others think I SHOULD be doing. Here we go. Cue the chanting music and theme lighting. Add a candle and throw in some incense but please spare me the Nag Champa. I think I left that scent back in San Francisco on Haight Street when I was… Continue Reading

Beverly Hills Ain’t So 9021-OHHH!

Beverly Hills Ain't So 9021-oh

I am in Beverly Hills right now doing one of the most dreaded task a person has to do…..pack a house and move! So, while I am traveling my mom and I thought it would be fun to treat ourselves to a suite at the SLS Hotel. WRONG! This has been anything but relaxing and I would have been better off sleeping on the hardwood floor of my house with no bedding, no electricity, and curled up next to piles of cardboard boxes (which roaches love to breed in- BTW). This hotel charges a lot of money for us to… Continue Reading
